O
ver the last decade, thyssenkrupp has
constructed and commissioned 14 new
fertilizer plants with a total urea capacity of
almost 12 million tpy.
Five years ago, the company signed contracts for
two large fertilizer complexes for CF Industries, one
in Donaldsonville, Louisiana, US, and one in Port Neal,
Iowa, US, and a 2200 tpd urea pool reactor plant for
OCI IFCo, Wever, Iowa. While the urea plant in
Donaldsonville – which has a capacity of 3500 tpd
– was successfully commissioned at the end of 2015,
commissioning and completion for CFI Port Neal and
OCI IFCo are currently ongoing.
